002 - Myth
made with crabapple leaves
-
warm yellow-orange, sand
modified
Sun - this modifier mutes the orange tones, allowing the yellow to shine through
Moon - mutes the yellow tones, resulting in a peachy pink color
Mercury - creates shades of goldenrod
Mars - to be determined
-
lightfastness
lightfastness is undetermined for this ink, but in general, the modifiers Mercury and Mars create longer lasting color.
-
Crabapples represent health, love, beauty, abundance, and immortality.
To create the color swatch, I use scraps of watercolor paper for each swatch. The horizontal stripes, from the top down, show 1-3 washes of ink, with each wash allowed to dry before the next application of ink.
Vertical Stripe 1 - Unmodified | 2 - Sun Modifier | 3 - Moon Modifier | 4 - Mercury Modifier | 5 - unmodified, Mars Modifier will be added soon.
To modify the ink, a single wash of modifier was applied in a vertical stripe once the base ink was allowed to dry.
